Paula Leomine Therapy

Why Therapy? Why Now?
Choosing to begin therapy can feel very scary, especially at a time where your issues may be feeling particularly overwhelming. I strongly believe that for change to happen we must be willing to make small changes. I believe that the right client/therapist pairing is integral to the therapeutic process. Committed engagement from both parties allows opportunity for individuals to experience a greater sense of self-awareness, growth and an overall improvement in quality of life.
Creative Arts Psychotherapy alongside my mindfulness approach allows clients to be engage in therapy at a pace that is suited to individual need in a safe and contained environment. It widely supports with building self-esteem and confidence, managing anxiety, exploring and understanding traumatic life events and providing a space to be seen and heard. Whatever your reason for thinking about therapy, the process can only be activated once you are ready. I will be there, every step of the way to offer the tools to support you on your journey. Some common reasons for engaging in therapy are:

Exploring traumatic events

• Building confidence and self esteem

• Problem solving

• Developing positive communication

• Exploring independence

• Allowing opportunity to be heard

• Achieving a greater understanding of self

• Promoting positive mental well being

• Developing trust and relationships with others

• Exploring and overcoming unhealthy behaviours

What is Dramatherapy?
As a Dramatherapist I can offer creative activities and embodied experiences to help clients to re-imagine, work through and make changes in their lives. I offer a wide range of dramatic techniques in verbal and non-verbal ways. Though vocalisation, story making and talk are integral parts of dramatherapy, the practice does not solely rely on spoken language to resolve what a client may wish to address, explore or seek support with. Embodiment and movement can also be used within the practice and is often an important component in helping people to connect with stored feelings. Dramatherapy allows clients to access difficult feelings at a dramatic distance. In my experience, this is usually a nice way in for clients more resistant to the process.
